Typically for family streaming nights, we enjoy comedy (or a good ol throwback to introduce the kids to some of my childhood favorites) but Rocky’s been RAVING about this new show he recently got into, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. He wouldn’t stop talking about it so I made some snacks and we enjoyed a Dino-themed family night.
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is a fun new show following 6 teenagers who won a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Camp Cretaceous. When the dinosaurs decide to wreak havoc, it’s up to the teenagers to work together in order to survive. For the first time EVER, we get to experience Jurassic World from the kids’ perspective... all of whom are different ethnicities. Because representation matters!
And don’t worry... It’s just as exciting and heart-pounding as the movies but with less on-screen gore and violence so the whole family can watch and enjoy.
Here’s a fun Dino-themed snack I made to go with it!
Dino Egg Recipe
Looking to kick your family streaming nights up a notch!? I got you!
These dinosaur egg popcorn balls are perfect for any dinosaur themed party, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous streaming night or playdate! They’re delicious super easy to make and take less than 10 minutes from start to first bite! A guaranteed crowd pleaser!
A quick trip to Walmart will get you off to a great start! Here’s what you’ll need:
1/3 cup butter
14 oz. jumbo marshmallows
2 Large mixing bowls
Spatula or spoon
Baking pan, cutting board OR serving dish
Step 1: Pop the two bags of popcorn
Step 2: Pour popped popcorn into large mixing bowl
Step 3: Melt marshmallow in the microwave in 30-second intervals until smooth (about 2 minutes). Stir each time.
Step 4: Add butter and microwave another 30 seconds. Stir.
Step 5: Pour marshmallow/butter mixture over popped popcorn. Stir to coat evenly.
Step 6: Rub a small amount of butter on your hands to prevent the popcorn from sticking. Scoop out a handful of popcorn and squeeze into oval shaped balls. Place on cutting board or serving dish.
Step 7: Enjoy!
Bonus: for added fun (and flavor!) add m&m’s or nuts to the mix before pouring on the marshmallow batter -or- drizzle chocolate on top once eggs are formed!
These are sure to be a hit at your next Dino Themed Family Streaming Night. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is the PERFECT series to entertain the whole family!
Oh, and you gotta download the Camp Cretaceous Activity kit. It includes word puzzles and searches, coloring sheets, ad lib stories and more! Thank me later!
